Every year from violent/safety reports to the flu, or mental health issues , substance abuse extreme hot weather or bullying  they all have an effect  on someone and its imperative to take care of yourselves as well as your co-workers when problems arise be it small or big. Often we hear that serious injuries just happen, they don’t. They are usually direct results of choices we make or don’t’ make.

The new Policy regarding working alone or in isolation has caused questions and grief for some. If something is not working in your office bring them to your OH&S office committee. We don’t know what works and what doesn’t if you choose just not to use it or think it is irrelevant.

You may not swing a sledgehammer or shovel dirt but computer workstations or equipment can be associated with neck, shoulder, back or arm pain, as well as with fatigue and eyestrain remember to take your breaks and stretch, your work cannot get done if you are unable to perform properly.

Just a reminder, if you have any physical problems from doing your work or there is any health and safety issues or concerns it is imperative that you fill out a safety return or speak to your OH&S rep in your respective offices. This is the only way the OH&S committee can help or make things better for you.
