BCGEU has been offered 3% over two years which doesn't approach the cost of living let alone making up for past zeros, so their talks have broken off. They'll be spending some time, given the logistics of so many members, running the process of a strike vote.
In our case the employer has not finalized the monetary mandate with PSEC so although we had been scheduled to meet again in mid-April we have agreed it makes no sense to do so without all information being on the table. We are not scheduled to meet again until the end of May, by which point we will also be able to see where the BCGEU is headed as well as any initial offer to us by our employer.
