About the Opportunity
The Manager, PMO IMIT Governance is an important role at BC Assessment established to manage all functions related to a corporate Project Management Office (PMO) and information management and information technology (IMIT) governance framework. This role establishes the practices for and provides oversight to the development, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of projects with multiple key deliverables. In addition, this role is required to manage and develop the IMIT governance framework to ensure stakeholder requests are captured, evaluated and prioritized.
If you have a university degree in Business, Information Management, Information Technology or equivalent; Project Management Professional certified (PMP, Prince2); experience in managing a large corporate PMO, multiple enterprise-wide programs and projects, relationships with senior level stakeholders, governance framework design and implementation, and directing work of other Project Managers, professional employees and/or consultants, then this is the opportunity for you!

The Manager, PMO IMIT Governance has the main responsibility to serve as leader of the Corporate PMO, managing and developing the IMIT framework for BC Assessment. This will involve leading the creation and implementation processes that will ensure stakeholder requested are captured, evaluated and prioritized correctly. This person develops the practices and procedures required for an efficient PMO, determines project priorities, develops and maintains stakeholder relationships, and provides project status and deliverable advice to management, the Executive and Board of Directors in alignment with the BCA business plan and goals. This integral role collaborates with the Manager, IMIT Planning Architecture to develop and implement IMIT policies, procedures and standards, advises BCA Executive on IMIT project management and governance issues, and evaluates the effectiveness of contracted services while managing vendor relationships and procurement. This position will report to the Director, Solutions Development following an organizational realignment currently underway.
In your first year, you’ll take on the exciting challenge of expanding an existing divisional PMO across the Corporation, using your PMO experience and excellent change management skills. Working with various stakeholders both within the Business and Customer Solutions Division and with other divisions, you will:
• Develop all practices and procedures required for an efficient Corporate PMO including tracking mechanisms;
• Ensure Project Managers effectively lead projects through to completion, providing support and training as required;
• Working with project managers, determine (or evaluate) project priorities, scope, resources, and deliverables;
• Develop briefing notes, make presentations, and provide advice to Management, Executive Staff and the Board of Directors regarding project status;
• Monitor financial and human resource consumption and track progress of projects;
• Develop and implement IM/IT policies, procedures and standards to ensure a comprehensive and consistent process.
