As our executive is taking on a more prominent role with committee work the responsibilities of the LTD Committee are expanding to take on more advocacy for our members who are navigating the waters of being on leave for disability. It can be challenging understanding all the details of being on disability leave as well as reintegration into the workplace. Historically our local's president has fielded many of the questions coming in from our members. There may be times when you don't want to deal directly with the employer or perhaps when you are struggling with the insurance company. Our union is there to help and my continuing role as chair of the Long Term Disability Committee will be as the expert on LTD and to advocate for our members. Donna Murray from Prince George office will be joining the committee to assist and support.
