Bargaining Update: Week 4 (Nov 19-21st)
Greetings folks,
Your bargaining committee met again this week with the employer. We worked through several outstanding proposals and were able to move a number of items closer to an agreement. However, some key issues remain unresolved and will require more time at the table.
While we continue to make progress on language proposals, we have not yet seen movement from the employer that reflects members’ core priorities, including meaningful improvements to wages and benefits.
We continue to stay coordinated with our CUPE and labour partners and are holding firm on a deal that recognizes the contributions of CUPE 1767 members. We are not interested in falling behind the standards being set elsewhere, and we are prepared to continue putting in the work needed to reach a fair deal that reflects members’ priorities.
Next steps
We have confirmed that we will meet again with the employer next week. We’ll share another update after our next meetings.
Thank you for your ongoing support and solidarity. It strengthens our position at the table and keeps this work moving forward.
Strengthening how we communicate
We are working to improve how the local shares updates. Soon, we will be transitioning to a new email system that will make it easier for members to update their contact information and ensure you’re receiving important bargaining updates and other union news.
More details to come.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the bargaining committee.
In solidarity,
Tina, Becky, Eder, Jared, and Dave
