CUPE 1767 Members Vote 90% in Favour of Strike Action
March 9, 2026
Members of CUPE Local 1767 have voted 90% in favour of strike action, with 91% of members across the province participating in the vote.
CUPE 1767 represents approximately 700 workers at BC Assessment. These members do work critical to the functioning of British Columbia’s property tax system.
“Our members take pride in the work they do to support communities across British Columbia,” says Tina Dhami, President of CUPE 1767. “They help ensure the stability and integrity of the property assessment system that municipalities, taxpayers, and the provincial government rely on. They deserve a settlement that recognizes the value of their work and is consistent with agreements already reached elsewhere in the public sector.”
“Our members want to continue providing these important services without disruption,” Dhami says. “We remain committed to reaching a fair agreement.”
The strong strike mandate provides the CUPE 1767 bargaining committee with clear direction as bargaining continues.
